OVERVIEW
This is a copy of the Trans-Siberian Railway egg. The original Egg was made by the craftsman Mikhail Perkhin of the Carl Faberge firm in honor of the construction of the Trans-Siberian railway in 1900 and presented at Easter to Empress Alexandra Fedorovna. At the moment, the egg is in the Museum of the Armory in Moscow.
The egg lid is hinged, enamelled and decorated with leaves. There is also a double-headed eagle with an imperial crown on the lid. The egg is supported by three griffins.
